YAY :glomp:

a new submission  ..and of a place i truly love as well ---> although personally i prefer Morraine lake a bit more

alot less people too ...which i always like ;)

**sneaks off into the bush :giggle:

but ...wonderful capture sweet Ellie Bellie
i love the tones and your use of depth of field here ...everything is so crisp and mmm :)

but i hope you dont mind me giving you a little critique here

1...id like to say the rule of thirds is a good rule to know..not always something to follow.....
but i think in this image...would have worked beautifully

as the focal point in this image is truly the rustic mountain colours accompanied by the V line from the trees located above the water line in the middle of the image

it really stands out wonderfully ....

so my opinion here and one i think that should be used in many photos and such that i see ..is to vary the stance ....

when shooting..dont always shoot...as you are standing

this image to me......would surely warrant a fav ...had you just lowered your self down to about knee length ....

bringing the water and the foreground trees and rocks closer to the bottom of the image.....

while the remaining water ....acted as a trail for the eye...leading out to the lower right of the image

while bringing the horizon of the water...down to the approximate rule of thirds idea ....

meaning 1/3 thru the photo .....in this regard

so the water flow....whether leading out of the image..or into the image..would have accompanied the flow of the mountains leading in...to bring your eye on the rustic coloured mountain cliff in the background...accentuating the image beautifully and wonderfully

( i hope you understand what i mean)
if not....feel free to ask..and ill do my best to explain more..... gladly and willingly :)

but other than that ......mmmm
rocky mountains .....
a place thats near and dear to my heart ...and im ever so happy to see some in your gallery ....and a new image from you itself

i hope there are plenty more from some of your travels coming in the near future :D

***sends you some endearing happiness and warmth for the approaching winter :smooch:

wow :faint:

Thank you SO much for taking the time to write so in depth. This means so much coming from a photographer that I really admire. :glomp:

I do get what you're saying and I do agree I love a good honest critiquing.

Morraine Lake is more beautiful

I really like the depth of the colours, they're really awesome. I agree with kilgore that the composition would gain a lot from lowering the perspective but other than that I like the compo as well.
